Here I Am at SU

And I have no internet. And I hate it. I feel completely cut off from the world. *Sigh* Please let me get internet soon. And let it work. And let school be easy, while I'm making wishes.

So! In short...

If you need to reach me, IM me on my phone, or call me. I will be very happy to hear from you!!

Sigh

Yea, yea, I know. I haven't posted in ages. I'm sure I can blame something, but I can't be bothered to think something up. Since I last posted.. I went to Quakecon, which was fun, but not completely thrills and chills. I'm glad I just arrived the morning of the first day instead of the night before.. It would have sucked to have waited in the line that long. Anyway, I got some free stuff, played CS:Source for the first time, and saw the Mr.Sinus show, which was hilarious, as usual, and lots of booths/new games.

After Quakecon, I don't know what I did for a few days, but this last weekend I loaded a bunch of people into my car and Katie's car, and we took off to spend the weekend at my condo in Georgetown. It was great fun, and we made many trips into Austin, visiting Mel, who showed us some awesome restaurants to try out, and also introduced us to Mozarts coffee shop on the lake. I think everyone had a good time, and it might become an annual thing. You can see pictures of the whole shebang here (click on "Emma's Condo Weekend 2005").

So tomorrow I'm going down to Georgetown for school. Sigh. I should be all excited about moving into my new room, but I know it's going to be a lot of work, and a lot of finding out half my things are missing somewhere. I know I'm going to miss my friends, and even my crazy crazy family. I'm going to miss my room, too. And I know I won't have internet until the 29th of August, late at night. Assuming I can get it working right off the bat, of course. I dislike being without internet. I'm nervous about going down, setting up my room, and the internet withdrawl I know I will be going through. Maybe it's all just me overreacting, but I am very, very stressed out about going back, and I really, really don't want to go. I feel sick to my stomach, and am dreading leaving tomorrow. The only thing I'm really looking forwards to is getting my new bike. It's a Trek with front suspension and nice knobbly tires - just the kind of bike I like. (I ride a lot in Britain, and grew up riding bikes, so I'm a little particular.) I was going to get it in purple and silver, but they have a stupid 60 day backorder, so I'll be getting blue and silver instead. Not a big deal, but a little sad. Sigh. Sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh. Arslinskkdks.

Please let me stay here.... Or at least give me internet down there!!!!

ET Heats Up Dinner

I had the privilage of seeing the above on a billboared yesterday. Though I'm sure it meant something completely different, it conjured up all sorts of entertaining images in my brain.

The above is an actual printscreen of my brain.

Wouldn't it be great to have a cooking show called 'ET heats up dinner?' It would leave everyone at home behind clueless when they got to the part about 'heat for 5 minutes with magic index finger.'
Anyway. Libby and I found that most amusing.

I went to the dentist yesterday, and for once he didn't yell at me about my wisdom teeth, which I find just as disconcerting as him yelling at me. I am completely convinced my dentist is involved in some conspiracy against me.

For those of you curious about Quakecon, I will probably be there Thursday and Friday, since those are the fun days.

For those of you curious about other things.. I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night, and while parts of definitely made me laugh, I much prefer Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. I also prefer the original songs, and the original Oompa-Loompas.. not the new rapper, gangsta, hip-hop, rock-n-roll ones. Blarg. I do think they did a great job with the other 4 golden ticket winners in the new version, though.

In other news... uh... my condo is cool.

Yey

So I'm back, and I'm alive, and all that good stuff. And, like any good person, I am promply abandoning you all to head on down to Georgetown and see my condo and all it's new furniture! It seems like everyone has seen it but me. So I'll be gone from about noon today till Saturday evening, at the condo, but I'll have my laptop, and apparently someone in the neighborhood has an unsecured wireless network, so I should be online from time to time down there. Then on Sunday I'll be going to my grandmother's farm for a late birthday celebration for my stepdad and myself, and returning on Monday, from whence I shall be free until school starts on August 29th, apart from a few more trips down to the condo I'll have to make.

So, yup. The UK was fun and all, and it was great being around the twins and Kenneth - Kenneth got me Half Life 2 for my birthday, which is just proof of what a super-awesome brother he is. I swear, he gets more fun every year. I'm officially the biggest wuss in the world, though, after having nightmares about HL2 after playing it *sheeping smile*. I get too into games when I play them, as anyone who's seen me play Serious Sam knows.. heh.

Well, have fun.

Headed Back

Well, just thought I'd let you all know I made it back safely from the Yorkshire Dales, and am headed back on the BA flight from LGW tomorrow. I'll arrive about 2pm US Central time, so, I'll see and talk to you all then!
